How to calculate a deadline: examples
A 30-day date window
1 November 2026 + 30 calendar days = 1 December 2026
This excludes the starting date. If your retailer counts the first date as day one, a 30-day window would end on 30 November instead. Confirm the purchase or delivery date and the policy’s counting convention.
15 December 2026 − 7 calendar days = 8 December 2026
Work backwards from a verified renewal cutoff to choose when to review it. Seven days is an example you can change; the provider’s cancellation notice requirements may call for more time.
Saturday and Sunday are skipped. Monday is day one and Friday is day five. Public holidays are included, so this is not a guarantee of a business’s processing or delivery date.
The starting date is day zero. For a positive number of days, counting starts on the following date when adding, or the preceding date when subtracting. Calendar days include weekends and holidays. Weekday mode skips Saturday and Sunday only; public holidays are still counted.
What date is 30 days after 1 November 2026?
Thirty calendar days after 1 November 2026 is 1 December 2026 when the starting date is excluded. If a provider counts 1 November as day one, the result is 30 November instead. Check the provider’s counting rule before using the result as a deadline.
Can I use this to calculate a return window or free-trial end date?
Yes, for date arithmetic based on a duration you already know. Check whether the retailer or service counts from purchase, delivery, activation, or another event, and whether the first day is included. A displayed cutoff in the provider’s account or terms takes precedence over a calculated estimate.
Does the calculator include public holidays or legal deadline rules?
No. Weekday mode excludes weekends only. It does not apply national holidays, court calendars, time-of-day cutoffs, or rules that move a deadline to another working day. Use the relevant provider or authority’s rules for the actual deadline.
Do I need an account, and will this send reminders?
The calculator is free and works without an account. Your calculation stays in your browser and does not send email or create a saved deadline. Create a DueRadar account with Google and add the verified date to receive account reminders.
